——————————————————————

Planting trees at scale is part of national policy. It sits at the centre of major urban greening programmes for many cities across the country, supported by significant public funding programmes.

Maximising value for money on these limited funds means thinking about tree establishment for the long term, not just tree planting.

It means actually answering the questions wrapped up in the ‘right tree, right place, right reason’ mantra we so often hear.

So, how do you make that work at scale, when you have to plant hundreds of street trees every year?

How do you bring coherence to a plan that must run over several years (or even decades), crossing multiple budget cycles?

How can new tree establishment be measured to align with tree canopy cover goals?

What role does public engagement play and why is it so crucial to success?

Where does tree equity fit in?

To help you get started, or just to help bring some more shape to your current programme, this interactive workshop will examine the challenges you face and explore some of the options available.

The workshop also offers a unique opportunity to share and learn from the experiences of peers and practitioners.

You will leave the day with clear ideas of how to move forward, links to resources, and a growing network of new colleagues.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Free on-site parking.
